If not for the threat from passive smoking, I would say let the smokers smoke themselves to death. Give them all Darwin awards! I mean, if you are stupid enough to smoke knowing that you will die many decades sooner because of it, then good riddance to those stupid genes.
I think there are not enough people with smoking related cancers for everyone to ask for a ban on it. If we there were such a thing, then enforcing it would still be difficult. I am sure the cigarette lobby will protest just as the arecanut lobby did when there was a ban on gutka.
it is sad…………….the air you breath is in itself polluted and then you further load your lungs with more impurities…………….i dont know how smoking is cool.
it is pathetic to see young girls who were not into this habit are competing to smoke drink etc, I think they think it is fun if they get into drugs on the same alalogy it it nightmare for family. let the awareness spread and good senses prevail.

smoking is indeed a nasty habit however life is a rulette of sorts, I think more em[phsise shpould be put on exercise and healthy eating rather than putting thoose with unhealthy vices, everyone has a weakness of sorts, fast food and lack of exercise is as much to blame as smoking for premeturely ending lifes as are road acidents, disease etc, however the overiding issue is not the vice(s) itself but how they come about; most people atacthment to land gone all humankind are still essentially nomads being static (not literally) has side effects for which their will always be loosers in an increasingly monogigenic society

As you point out smokers are indeed getting younger.. I dont know if its just a coincidence but I have been observing more and more girls smoking…
I guess when you are young you feel nothing can harm you.. even smoking…
